Special rules for visitors regulate only activities in the territories of nature reserve zones, whereas the Natura 2000 and other requirements could regulate the visiting activities.

It is possible to visit strict nature reserve zones in the purposes of:

- Scientific exploration, educational or cognitive research;
- Picking up berries (cranberries)/ mushrooming, amateur ice fishing (only for local inhabitants). 

The governing body (Žuvintas biosphere reserve Directorate) is responsible for issuing permits to visit strict nature reserves on site.
